PUBLIC DEFENDER’S CLOTHES CLOSET DRIVE SET FOR DECEMBER 9
(ORLANDO) – Orange/Osceola Public Defender Bob Wesley is again asking
people to bring their professional clothing donations to the Orange County Courthouse
on Saturday, December 9 for his Annual Clothes Closet drive. The Public Defender’s
Office uses the Clothes Closet to provide people with suitable attire for court
appearances.
“These donations help maintain the dignity of court proceedings and ensure that
the lack of proper attire doesn’t affect the outcome of cases before the court,” explained
Wesley.
Wesley and his employees will be in front of the Orange County Courthouse on
Orange Avenue from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. this coming Saturday to collect gently worn
professional garments. They will provide receipts to acknowledge the charitable
donations. Clothing contributions can be made throughout the year by calling the Public
Defender’s Office at 407-836-4806.
The clothing is available to litigants in Orange and Osceola court appearances
and to people going into residential programs.
“Now is a great time for people to reach into the back of their closets for those
items they don’t wear anymore,” said Wesley. “Clean out those closets in preparation for
the new clothes you’ll be getting for the holidays,”
Wesley and his staff will be accepting donations:
9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Saturday, Dec. 9
Front of the Orange County Courthouse
435 North Orange Avenue
